Terms of Service

Last Updated: July 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of METAPAD (the "Service"), including our website, tools, and API. By creating an account or using any part of the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for an account, verifying your email, or using any free tool on METAPAD without an account, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account.

2. Description of Service

METAPAD provides a set of website intelligence and automation tools, including:

  • Website Traffic — automated visits to a URL you provide, in Standard or Professional (custom browsing recipe) mode.
  • Web Scraping — guided or custom-recipe extraction of publicly visible data from web pages you specify.
  • Code Extraction — downloading the front-end HTML, CSS, and JavaScript of a page you specify, as a single page or a multi-page crawl.
  • Website Health Check — a report on SSL/security, load time, mobile-friendliness, broken links, and basic SEO signals for a URL you specify.
  • Free Tools — browser-based utilities (JSON formatting, encoding, formatting, etc.) that run without an account and without sending your input to our servers.
  • API Access — programmatic access to the traffic, scraping, extraction, and health-check tools via an API key.

We may add, change, or discontinue individual tools or features at any time. We'll try to give notice of significant changes, but we can't guarantee advance notice in every case.

3. Eligibility & Account Registration

To use paid tools, you need an account with a verified email address. You're responsible for:

  • Providing accurate information when you register.
  • Keeping your password and any API keys confidential — you're responsible for all activity under your account and keys.
  • Notifying us promptly if you believe your account or an API key has been compromised.

One person or organization may not maintain multiple accounts to abuse free-tier limits, bonus credit tasks, or promotional offers.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service for anything illegal or harmful. Specifically, you may not use our traffic, scraping, code extraction, or API tools to:

  • Attack, overload, or attempt to disrupt any website, server, or network you don't own or have explicit permission to test.
  • Generate fake account registrations, fraudulent form submissions, or fake engagement (likes, votes, reviews) on third-party platforms.
  • Scrape or extract data that is private, password-protected, or explicitly excluded by a site's terms of service, in a way that violates applicable law.
  • Circumvent rate limits, CAPTCHAs, or access controls of a third-party site through deceptive or unauthorized means.
  • Infringe on anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or other legal rights.
  • Resell or redistribute API access without our written consent.
  • Interfere with the Service's own infrastructure, including attempting to reverse-engineer, overload, or gain unauthorized access to it.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe are violating this section, with or without prior notice.

5. Payments, Deposits & Bonus Credit

Paid tools are billed against your account balance, which has two components:

  • Paid Balance — funds you deposit through a supported payment provider.
  • Bonus Credit — funds earned through in-app reward tasks. Bonus credit is non-withdrawable and can only be spent on tools within the Service.

You must have sufficient balance in the account you choose to pay from before a job is queued; jobs are not started on credit. Prices for each tool are shown before you submit a job and may change over time — the price at the moment you submit is the price you're charged.

If a queued job is cancelled before it starts, the reserved amount is refunded to the balance it was charged from. Refunds for completed or partially completed jobs, deposit disputes, or payment errors are handled case-by-case — contact support with your job ID or deposit reference and we'll look into it.

6. API Access & Usage

API keys are issued per account and authenticate requests made on your behalf. API jobs are billed at the same rates as dashboard jobs and are subject to the same Acceptable Use rules in Section 4, plus:

  • Requests are subject to a rate limit (currently 100 requests per minute per key); we may adjust this limit at our discretion.
  • You're responsible for securing your API key. We treat requests authenticated with your key as authorized by you.
  • We may revoke a key without notice if we detect abuse, a compromised key, or a Terms violation.

7. Service Availability & Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We work to keep it reliable, but we don't guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free, or that results (traffic, scrape data, health check scores, extracted code) will be complete or fit for any particular purpose. Scheduled maintenance or third-party outages (proxy providers, payment processors, target websites) may affect availability.

We are not responsible for how a third-party website, analytics platform, or service reacts to traffic or requests you generate through the Service, including rate-limiting, blocking, or flagging your target site.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, METAPAD and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service — including lost profits, lost data, or damage to a third-party website — even if we've been advised of the possibility. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose.

You agree to use the Service responsibly and at your own risk, and to independently verify results (health check scores, scraped data, extracted code) before relying on them for any decision.

9. Intellectual Property

The METAPAD name, logo, website, and underlying software are our property or licensed to us, and are protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service itself. Data you scrape or extract through the Service remains subject to the intellectual property rights of its original source — using it is your responsibility.

10. Third-Party Services & Links

The Service relies on third parties for infrastructure such as proxy networks and payment processing, and may link to third-party sites (for example, in scrape results or extracted code). We don't control and aren't responsible for the content, availability, or practices of any third-party service or site.

11. Data & Privacy

Our free browser-based tools process your input locally and don't send it to our servers. For account-based tools, job configuration and results are stored so you can view job history and download files. See our Privacy Policy for details on what we collect and how it's used.

12. Termination & Suspension

You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time by contacting support. We may suspend or terminate your account for violating these Terms, non-payment, suspected fraud, or extended inactivity. Any remaining Paid Balance at the time of termination for cause may be forfeited; Bonus Credit is non-withdrawable in all cases.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last Updated" date above and, where practical, notify you by email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which METAPAD is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service should first be raised with our support team so we can try to resolve it directly.
